LoveLeigh Candles is a black-owned candle company with eco-friendly products, founded in Detroit, Michigan. Our selection of candles are made with 100% natural soy wax and organic cotton wicks! Loveleigh Candles are also free from harmful chemicals, such as paraben and phthalate! We aim to craft high quality candles that are essential to improve our moods, calm our minds and aid in creating an overall peaceful ambiance.

Candle Care & Safety

We want you to have the best experience with your Loveleigh Candles, while also staying safe. Check out some care and safety tips below to ensure you get the most out of Loveleigh products!

Allow your candle to burn for at least 2 hours on first use. This will allow the candle to burn evenly.
When lighting for the first time, allow the wax to melt to the edge of the glass
Trim your candle wick approximately 1/4″ before each use
Burn for a maximum of 4 hours at a time
Always keep the candle away from children and pets
Never leave a burning candle unattended
Place your candles on flat and heat-resistant surfaces
After extinguishing, let the candle cool completely before touching/moving

LoveLeigh Products

Jars

Our jars are made of 100% glass and are able to be recycled. However, we encourage you to safely clean and reuse your LoveLeigh candle jar! Try repurposing your jar as a planter with our flower embedded thank you card and soil disc add on!

Wicks

LoveLeigh Candles uses Eco wicks for our candles. Eco wicks are coreless, cotton wicks with paper filaments throughout to ensure a safe, clean burn! Our wicks are also natural, free from lead and zinc.

Packaging

Our LoveLeigh candles are wrapped with love in biodegradable tissue paper and recycled bubble wrap!

Meet the Maker

Jasmine Jones

Founder

My name is Jasmine and I’m the CEO/maker of LoveLeigh Candles. Each product is handmade in small batches by yours truly!

Soon after making candles as a therapeutic hobby, I leaped into entrepreneurship. My business was inspired by the deep passion I hold for candle-making, but also the unconditional love I have for my sweet mother, Leigh. She has been the most supportive vessel along my journey with her strength, wisdom, and ambitious qualities. Our candles have been featured in top vendor events and additionally are sold at Black Owned Toronto inside of Scarborough Town Centre and newly at Curate Noir located in Moorestown Mall in NJ!

I appreciate each and every person that takes a moment to support my brand and all the hard work that goes into my craft. Thank you, GOD!

FAQs

Your Candle

My flame is high when lit, how do I fix this?
If your flame is tall or thicker than normal, extinguish the flame and trim the wick once the candle has cooled.

Why is my candle mushrooming?
A possible cause is the wick not being trimmed properly. Try trimming your wick down to ¼”!

How do I remove soot on my candle?
If you are experiencing soot on your candle, your candle may have exceeded its recommended burn time, the wick was not properly trimmed prior to burning, or may have simply just collected some dust! But no worries! Carefully cleaning the rim of your LoveLeigh candle jar with warm soapy water will easily clean soot from your candle.

How long do LoveLeigh Candles last?
If you follow the candle care steps, you can reach up to 40 hours of burn time!

How long does it take my candle to ship?
Our current processing time is 5-7 business days. Your order ships after it is fully processed. You will receive a tracking number once your order has shipped and will receive your LoveLeigh package in 3-5 business days, not including weekends or holidays.

Can I expedite my shipping?
We do not currently offer expedited shipping.

How can I track my order?
You will receive an email containing the tracking number once your order ships! The tracking number will be sent to the email listed at checkout so make sure to double check the email address!

Glossary/Terminology

What is a non-toxic candle?

Candles that are made from natural waxes and unbleached cotton wicks would be considered “non-toxic”. Loveleigh Candles are non-toxic and made with ingredients that eliminate the risk of your candle being damaging to your health.

What is phthalate?

Phthalate is a toxin often used in candles to increase the scent throw. However, phthalate is harmful to our health, therefore our products are free from phthalate!

What is paraffin?

Paraffin is a petroleum waste product that releases harmful toxins and chemicals when burned. Loveleigh Candles are free from paraffin!

What does Cruelty-Free mean?

This is used when a product has NOT been tested on animals. Loveleigh Candles are cruelty-free!

Why are cotton wicks beneficial?

We use cotton wicks not only for their clean burn, but they ensure and even burn! Cotton wicks are also free from lead in zinc, making them an eco-friendly choice!

What is a memory burn?

It is important to allow your candle to fully melt across the top on your first burn. This allows your candle to establish a “memory burn”. A proper memory burn will ensure your candle burns evenly after each time it is lit. When you allow your soy candles to produce a memory burn, you are preventing the candle from tunneling.
